Garmin Tacx Nera Smart Trainer
The Garmin Tacx Nera Smart Trainer takes your ride inside: a smart trainer with built-in motion that moves the bike forward, backward and side to side for a more realistic feel. Power and cadence read to within 1%, so the watts on your screen match the effort in your legs. Built-in Wi-Fi keeps the link to your training app stable, and race mode gives a fast response in virtual races in select apps. It runs stable and quiet under you. Choose it with a pre-installed SHIMANO/SRAM 11-speed cassette, or with a Zwift Cog and Zwift Click.
It takes sprint efforts up to 2,200 watts and simulates grades up to 20%.

How to use it
Cassettes and axles
The cassette version arrives with its 11-speed cassette fitted, and takes Shimano and SRAM cassettes from 9 to 11 speed. With a special cassette body it also takes Campagnolo and SRAM 12-speed or XDR.
- Quick release axles of 130 and 135 mm
- Thru axles of 142 and 148 mm with the included end caps
- 135 mm Thru-Axle Adapter Set available separately for 10 x 135 and 12 x 135 bikes
Train with a plan
With the cassette version, set up a free Garmin Coach training plan in the Garmin Connect app, then view and complete each session in the Tacx Training app. On that version, upgrading your Tacx Training app plan adds a library of workouts, real courses from around the world and Garmin Connect badges.
- Speed, cadence and power output on every ride
- Odometer for your indoor miles in the Tacx Training app
The Zwift Cog and Click version
This version swaps the cassette for a pre-installed Zwift Cog. Ride in Zwift or ROUVY and it works with almost any 8- to 13-speed drivetrain. Zwift Click attaches to any handlebar for 24 silent virtual gears, and lets you steer, navigate menus and give ride-ons, with an active Zwift Membership.
- Zwift Cog still supports ERG mode workouts on compatible devices, including an Edge cycling computer
- Ready to ride on Zwift once it is set up in the Tacx Training app
